A.S. Watson Group Launches Hong Kong-made Own Brand Face Masks

WatMask is manufactured in an ISO 14644-1 Class 8 dust-free workshop, which is converted from part of the Watsons distilled water workshop. WatsMask is the first mask manufacturer in Hong Kong to obtain the "Medical Protective Mask Product Certification" and "ISO 13485 Medical Device Quality Management System Certification" from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency.

WatsMask has passed ASTM F2100 Level 3 test, reaching the highest standard, enhancing water-repellent performance, and effectively blocking the penetration of liquids with a liquid resistance of no more than 160mmHg. It is also the first Hong Kong company to obtain a medical protective mask from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency. "Product Certification" and "ISO 13485 Medical Device Quality Management System Certification" mask manufacturer.

WatMask uses a three-layer non-woven filter protection design, including a blue outer layer with waterproof function, and a middle filter layer that can effectively block bacteria and particles of no less than 0.1 microns. There are 30 masks in each box, all individually packaged; the size of the masks is 175x95mm. The factory expects to produce 10 million masks per month.

This time, Watsons masks have special printing. From the photos released by Watsons, it can be seen that each mask has a heart-shaped and "WE CARE" stamp on the lower left corner, so that others can recognize it at a glance. It is a big deal for some citizens. The selling point, while making it easier for the public to identify the front and back of the mask.

Watsons pointed out that due to the continued huge demand, after assessing the global supply, it decided to start preparations for mask production in March this year. Within one month, it will rebuild part of the facilities in the Watsons distilled water plant in Tai Po and set up a dust-free workshop that meets the standards. The factory is equipped with 6 all-weather automatic production lines, and employees produce masks day and night. However, the plant is shut down one day a week for regular ultraviolet disinfection and to clean the plant environment and equipment.

Precautions
One-time use. It is recommended to replace a new mask after every 8 hours of continuous use.
