Tony Hawk's Secret Skatepark Tour chronicles live action of Tony and several of his best friends as they show up unannounced at skateparks throughout the west and session with the lucky bystanders who happen to be near. A camera crew is in tow and films some of most loose and ripping action you've ever seen. Running time: 25 minutes.

Lots of portable entertainment and music systems are on the market, but VideoNow is the only one that plays a whole series of collectible, short-play DVDs (which are dubbed Personal Video Discs, or PVDs). One of those PVDs is "Tony Hawk's Secret Skatepark Tour," which shows 25 minutes of pure Hawk on the road with his champion, skateboarding friends. The group of extreme boarders surprise neighborhood kids up and down the West Coast with cool stunts and chance to hang and ride with Hawk. The piece also serves as a mini-documentary, going behind the scenes to show raw footage of the pressures and rewards of the sport. It's cool to watch, but keep in mind that the PVD is only about as long as a half-hour TV show, and will be exciting to kids with lots of interests for only so long. --Diane Beall
